Genuine leather with a floral pattern worked into the vamp and carried the length of the shaft. Snip toe, leather interior, rubber heel cap. Black is the version you can wear to a wedding on Saturday and to work on Monday without anybody deciding which one it was made for.

No two pairs are alike. The tooling is cut by hand, so depth and placement shift a little from pair to pair.

Cincelado means chiseled.

The pattern on these boots isn't printed and it isn't embossed. It's cut. A tooler works the leather damp with a swivel knife and a set of stamps, one section at a time, and the depth you feel under your thumb is depth that was actually taken out of the hide.

It's the oldest decorative craft in Mexican leatherwork and nothing has replaced it, because nothing does it as well. A machine can press a pattern into a boot in seconds. It comes out flat, and it comes out identical to the next thousand.

These come out of León with somebody's hand in them. Set two pairs of the same color side by side and you'll find the difference.

The Leather

Genuine leather, tooled by hand across the vamp and carried the full length of the shaft. Leather interior, so the boot breathes the way leather is supposed to.

The Build

Snip toe, cut narrow and finished clean. Durable rubber heel cap where the wear actually happens.

Cut, tooled, and lasted in León, Guanajuato, by people whose families have been making boots for three generations.

Moisture

Avoid prolonged exposure to rain
If wet, blot gently and air dry at room temperature
Never use direct heat — no radiators, no hair dryers

The Tooling

Brush dust out of the cut lines with a soft dry brush after wearing
Condition sparingly, a few times a year — too much polish fills the tooling and flattens the pattern
Work polish in with a cloth, not a stiff brush, and don't scrub across the cut lines
